Join us at 8am on Monday, May 11th at Stockdale Country Club for The Gleaners Charity Golf Classic. Tee-off will start at 9am with a scramble format. A taco lunch and award presentation will be held at 2pm.

Enjoy a delightful spring day on one of Bakersfield’s premier golf courses with good friends while making a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of local families and seniors.

THE MISSION

For over 40 years, The Gleaners has consistently worked to alleviate hunger in Kern County. Population growth, a natural increase in the number seniors, and changes in the economy have combined to create more hunger than ever before. We collect, store and distribute hundreds of tons of food to roughly 7500 people every month.

MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE

The Gleaners does not receive government funding. The entire operation is funded by corporate and individual donations. We have been able to keep our administrative expenses at around 2%. That means we put your contribution to work to serve the most vulnerable members of our community.

The simple truth is most of us have no idea what it’s like to worry about where we’re going to get the next meal. Hungry people are not thinking about anything but how are they going to get the next meal. The impact The Gleaners makes in people’s lives extends far beyond the dinner table We have seen desperate, down on their luck people turn their lives completely around by knowing that there was consistent help.
