Info for Agencies PDF Print E-mail
Food through all our programs except Senior Sack or Volunteering for Food is distributed to individuals referred to us by one of our contracting agencies or directly to the contracted agency itself.  We do not distribute food to walk-in clients without a referral.

All our contracting agencies complete an Agency Agreement and Release of Liability as well as provide proof of their non-profit status and a certificate of insurance.  If you are a non-profit in Kern County who is interested in being a referring agency to the Gleaners, contact us to see if we are currently accepting new agencies.

Agencies agree to pay a shared maintenance fee of $0.10 per pound of food distributed on their account.  These fees are billed monthly.  Agencies may not sell food obtained from the Gleaners and are subject to on-site inspections of facilities, foods, and records of food distribution activities by Gleaners representatives.

Existing contracting agencies have met the criteria above, submitted their documentation and had their authorized callers attend an orientation at our facility.  If an agency needs to add a new authorized caller they must:
  1. Have the new caller attend one of our orientation sessions.  These are offered the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  No registration is required.
  2. Caller should bring with him a letter on organization letterhead signed by his supervisor or person listed as the contact person for the Gleaners authorizing his addition as a caller on the account.
